Before we go over the specifics and photos of this home I will go over some fast facts about Mexico City:

  1. The original name of Mexico City is Tenochtitlan. The name was preserved by the Spanish crown but later re-named to Mexico.

  2. The city is literally built atop a lake. It is estimated that the city has sunk more than 29 feet in the last 100 years.

  3. More than 20 million people live in Mexico City.

  4. 600,000 Americans live in Mexico City.

  5. Mexico City has the largest amount of museums in the Americas and the second most in the world just after London.

  6. Mexico City is often referred to as the City of Palaces, because it has the largest amount of palaces in the world.

Now that you know a little bit more about Mexico City, let’s go over a little bit about this property then we will get into some photos!

This unique home was built in 2006 by architect Javier Senosiain. He designed the home for a family with two children who were tired of boring conventional living. The home he designed is inspired by the work of Frank Loyd Wright and Guadi. It is dominated by smooth surfaces and spiral stairs that makes it feel like your living in a snail. Fun Fact: The way this home was built also makes it earthquake proof as well!
